It’s a dream he thinks.
It must be
Clarity of feeling so, so… what’s that word
The blur of a dream doesn’t exist right now with my sight
That remembrance is alive it doesn’t require a sleepy night
I can look right at you and it’s not just seen with my eyes
Your the dream of my lifetime couldn’t do better with a thousand more tries
The kids are grown, our job is mostly done
It’s just you and I growing older, the wistfulness of youth replaced by a setting sun
The bills, work and obligation can certainly dampen that joy
Of the time it was just one girl and one boy
There’s a comfort in looking at you when you don’t know I stare
My heart and eyes full of love for all we have become,
Some might think it’s our aging bodies and gray hair that diminishes that spark
But there’s no where I would rather be, then with you the one that still owns my heart.
